How do I know if my file is suitable for printing? If you’re not sure whether your files are suitable for printing you can click on the button “Check your print file” which you will find when ordering under “Product features”. We will check your file and contact you should there be any problems. Why does the printed product look different when viewed as a file on my computer screen? Your computer screen produces colours using the RGB-system, an offset printing maschine however uses CMYK. Both are proven colour systems, nevertheless, it is’nt possible to produce exactly the same colour, in both systems, for every imaginable colour. In other words: a colour on your computer screen will always look slightly different to the printed product. Nevertheless, your files must be created using the CMYK mode of your image editing program in order to be suitable for printing.
Why do I need a trimming edge on the print? Due to the trimmer, differences of up to 1mm can arise on the edge of the print product. That’s why file and finished format differ in size by up to 2mm (1mm in both directions). In this way we are able to compensate for small tolerances, ensuring a nice finish to your product. Text should be positioned at least 3mm from the edge, so that it does’nt “stick” to the paper edge after trimming.
